A couple of weeks ago we shared and article about casting our cares upon the Lord and taking up His yoke; based upon I Peter 5:7 and Matthew 11:28-30. We may be able to endure hardships and trials for a while, but there comes a breaking point in any of our lives.
Therefore we all must learn to continue to stand upon God’s Word such as: Hebrews 13:5 “...I will never leave thee nor forsake thee”, Deut. 28:13 that tells us we are the head and not the tail, we are above only, and not beneath. Isaiah 54:17 “...no weapon formed against thee shall prosper…”, Matthew 16:18 “...the gates of hell shall not prevail…”, or Romans 8:37 “...in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him…”, Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me”. Also, I Cor. 10:13 For there hath no temptation (test) taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer (allow) you to be tempted (tested) above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also may a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Then of course we must share Romans 8:38-39 “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, now powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This Word cannot be altered or changed in any way! IT IS TRUTH! For most of us these should be foundational in our lives. We should be able to stand upon them, and having done all to stand, STAND!
Here we are facing a New Year. We have no control of that fact! Time moves forward, seasons change, the sun rises and sets and brings another day regardless of our feelings, moods or outlook.
Often a new year brings with it a time of new resolutions, renewed commitments, a sense of fresh beginnings. We tend to think differently in January. Visions become fresh, expectations are raised. But we must realize that God moves in our lives by seasons and not by a calendar year.
So with that being said, we are all facing our own personal tests. Each of us has a story...and if we are not careful, our life is only large enough to handle “our” test, trials or challenges and we focus or redirect our lives towards ourselves instead of God or others.
Today my challenge to us is...Let’s stand on our foundational Scriptures, rather they are the ones we shared above, or any other. Let’s not have to lay another foundation. Rather, let’s know God will bring us through whatever test we might find ourselves in and know He will cause us to rise above it. Then we can trust God and operate according to Isaiah 40:31 that tells us clearly, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.”
Therefore we can have a new perspective and cause our atmosphere to be a godly one filled with victory! Just something to ponder… Pastor Vana
