In Search for the Supernatural

J. Lee Grady wrote an article that appeared in Charisma magazine in which he points out that, "Americans can't seem to get enough of horror movies. Every October, in time for Halloween, Hollywood releases a creepy new crop of films about masked serial killers, flesh-eating zombies, craze vampires and demon-possessed children who crawl out of television sets to attack us.

This year's horror fare includes:

- Annabelle (about a red-haired doll possessed by an evil spirit)

- Devil's Due (about a demonic pregnancy resulting form a voodoo ritual)

- Ouija (about teenagers who conjure ghosts by playing a board game)

- Horns (about a murder suspect who begins growing horns and taking on other devilish characteristics

But... in the midst of all the sadistic, barbaric, depraved, hair curling, Hollywood productions, and the true to life satanic cult, witches covens in search of new recruits and supernatural powers...

Do you know what gives the devil a "code red," "5 AM alert," and sends a panic to the barracks of darkness? When a man, woman, young person, or child accepts the highest call, the greatest quality of life which is knowing God!

Jesus made this statement in John 17:3 "And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with and understand ) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent."

The devil gets nervous and all uptight when he sees someone that was once blind, see; someone that was once imprisoned by sin, self or sickness set free!

Knowledge in this respect is "mighty power" against your adversary! It is the rope that pulls you out of the pit. It i he ship that gets you across the raging seas of life. It is the push that moves you from the path of destructions and he pardon that stays the execution!

The devil cannot bear witness your deliverance, repentance and forgiveness. He recognizes that the "knowledge" Jesus spoke of in John 17:3 is not based on speculation but experience, it is not just intellectual but spiritual, not inactive but saving!

2 Peter 1:3 says, "For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue)."

The Apostle Paul says, " [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly]..." Phil. 3:10

Oh that we would continue to come to "know" Him!
